Dan is enjoying his
second career as performance coach, trainer and as a counselor with the
Westminster and the Frederick Branches of CentrePointe Counseling,
Inc. The Westminster branch is located in the Westminster Baptist
Church and the Frederick branch is located in the Evangelical Lutheran
Church.
Dan
specializes in rapid relief of traumas, phobias and anger issues,
especially anger between couples.
During the his 29 years with IBM, he earned a M.S. in Counseling from
Loyola College of Baltimore. After retiring from IBM, he earned a
M.S.W. from University of Maryland School of Social Work. He
specialized in sexual abuse cases during his 2.5 years as a child abuse
investigator for the Carroll County Department of Social Services.
Seeking more effective methods of helping clients continues to be a
passion. Workshops focusing on energy therapies have been well received
by NASW-MD, Carroll County Community College and University of Maryland
at Baltimore audiences.
Dan started his clinical career using various "talk therapy" modalities
with success. While most of his clients seemed satisfied with their
progress, Dan was not satisfied with the apparent slowness of the
process. His asking the Lord to lead toward more effective methods of
helping clients become free started a long journey of reading and
training.
The first departure from "traditional" talk therapy, was EMDR (Eye
Motion Desensitization and Reprocessing) which involves either eye
motion or other methods of alternately stimulating the left and right
brain hemispheres. For the first time, he was able to witness startling
improvements from one session to the next.
Next was a big step of faith as he attended training for TFT (Thought
Field Therapy). The reason
this was such a big step in faith is that he was convinced TFT would
not
work; but the Lord's leading through various circumstances was very
clear. The training was 3 days long and it was not until the afternoon
of the third day that he personally experienced the powerful healing
potential of using specific acupressure points while focusing on
disturbing issues.
TFT opened doors to other techniques (EFT,
TAT, BSFF) that include the
use of acupressure points.
